Tara Ayers

Panelist: Optimize Your Tennis Game

Mrs. Tara Ayers is originally from Middletown, CT. She is a graduate of Bennett College and NC Agricultural &Technical State University and currently holds a Masters degree in Human Resource Agency-Counseling. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor for the state of North Caroling. She has worked in the mental health field for over 20 years in various settings in both the public and private sectors. Her primary role has been that of a Clinical Therapist in which she has seen patients for individual, couples, family and group therapy. She sees adults, adolescents and the geriatric population. She has an interest in Mood Disorders, Anxiety Disorders, Anger Management, Life Adjustment Issues, Women’s Mental Health issues; including fertility concerns; Substance Abuse, Family Dynamic issues, Eating Disorders/Body Image issues; Career and Life Coaching and a wide range of other mental health concerns. Tara has developed programs and facilitated various groups including Women’s Wellness groups, Adolescent Girl’s Wellness groups and Substance abuse programs including addiction programs specficially for medical professionals. Tara has also worked closely with businesses and corporations as an EAP provider for services. She has facilitated wellness workshops for employer lunch and learns and has served as a consultant for businesses facing workplace issues.

Tara currently works in the Corporate insurance sector with MetLife Disability. There, she serves as a Psychiatric Clinical Consultant where she consults on psychiatric disability claims and makes clinical recommendations. Tara also serves as an Image Consultant with DressCode; a private and independently owned company which helps women develop their own personal brand, including fashion consultation and leadership coaching.

Tara has served on numerous boards throughout the years and has a passion for staying connected in the community. She volunteers her time facilitating educational workshops on mental health issues for churches, colleges/universities and non-profits in the community. Tara also has a passion for health and fitness and incorporating holistic approaches to psychotherapy. She is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc and Soroptimist International of Wake Forest which are all volunteer and public service organizations. Tara enjoys exercising, traveling, reading , volunteering and spending time with family and friends. She is married and has a beautiful 12 year old daughter named Hannah Simone.
