The ATA has broadened the tennis spectrum for many tennis players. Below are a few notable members and their historical accomplishments.

Pete & Repete

The Original Sisters Act - Margaret and Roumania Peters

A generation before Venus and Serena, years before Althea Gibson made a name for herself, my coach and her sister were known as “Pete” and “Repete.

David Dinkins

Mayor Dinkins was an avid tennis fan going back to his days, as a young man, attending tennis parties at the Shady Rest Golf & Country Club in Scotch Plain, New Jersey which was the oldest African American country club (founded in 1921).
