About the event

Presenters:

Lori Riffice- Lori is a National Coach for the USTA. In her role with the USTA, she

identifies junior girls and helps establish relationships between the USTA and players,

coaches, and parents. She also works with Player ID and Development, creating

sectional, regional and national camps Lori played her collegiate tennis at UC Santa

Barbara. One of Lori’s sons, Sam Riffice, was a part of the 2021University of Florida

NCAA National Championship tennis team and also won the NCAA singles title.

Larry Strickland- Coach Strickland has been the Howard men’s coach since 1984. He

also started and has coached the Howard women’s team since 1986. His teams have

won nine Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Championships. Coach Strickland has

coached over 100 ITA Scholar All-Americans, and 4 of his teams have achieved the ITA

Team All-Academic Team awards. In 2018, Coach Strickland was inducted into the

Howard University Hall of Fame.
